Temproof: temporary roofing for building modules and pods

Building modules and pods need to stay dry long before their permanent roof goes on: in the factory yard, on the back of a lorry, and on site until the upper storeys are built. For hotel bedroom pods, that can be months. That's the job Temproof was made for.

What is Temproof?

Temproof is a specially developed unbacked PVC roofing membrane, 350 microns thick, that gives a temporary roof covering to building modules and pods during transport and on site. It protects both the roof and the walls until the permanent roof is completed.

  • Made to measure: Temproof blankets are made to suit your module sizes, with 40mm RF-welded joints across the width of the blanket. Bespoke pod covers are also available.
  • Supplied on cores: normally 2 to 4 blankets per core, depending on size.

How it's installed

  1. Temproof is normally fully bonded to a plywood roof deck with Dekbond 2545 water-based roofing adhesive, applied with a notched trowel.
  2. On upstands and downturns, a suitable contact adhesive or double-sided tape is used.
  3. Where a mechanically fixed installation is needed, a version with a concealed fixing flap is available.
  4. To seal modules together temporarily, Temproof is overlapped onto the next module and sealed with Supraseal® tape.

  • Elongation at break: 200% longitudinal, 220% transverse
